Dyrham Park

Spent the day at Dyrham Park, a National Trust property close to Bath. The grounds are extensive with many walks around the grounds. The formal gardens are in full bloom. Although not many rooms are open, one has the original leather embossed wallpaper with a sample of what it would have looked like when first installed.

Tynesfield, National Trust

Decided to visit Tynesfield, the Nation Trust house just outside Bristol. The last time we were their was a few years ago when our friends 40’s group arranged a weekend and dance. The gardens and grounds are quite extensive and the vegetable garden and orangery is lower down, but it does have a cafe to ease the feet. You must visit the house, and you will be given a time slot to tour, because it is very popular. At the moment they have an exhibition of objects that wade had gathered over the years
